Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda
By Shel Silverstein

All the Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas
Layin' in the sun,
Talkin' 'bout the things
They woulda coulda shoulda done...
But those Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas
All ran away and hid
From one little Did.

I've loved this poem for years. Heck, I've loved Shel Silverstein for longer. I really need to get these books for my kids.

What is your favorite Shel Silverstein poem?

huummmm...I 'll have to try to remember my fav's. Our books are all packed in the attic right now (from showing the house). I didn't remember this one though, and I like it a lot! That is where that ladies blog name came from:) that explains a lot!

Oh I love Shel Silverstein!!!! We used to read poems from "Where the Sidewalk Ends" as a family when I was a kid. I have so many favorites that it is hard to choose. I do like Sara Cynthia Sylvia Stout, but I also like Reginald Clark (who was afraid of the dark), and Peanut Butter Sandwich, and The Boa Constrictor, and the list goes on and on and on......

How about Jimmy Jet and the TV Set?? We had a poem picked out for each kid. I love that one... Sister for Sale, too. Have you ever sat down with those poems and picked out the spiritual symbolism? It's fun.

I would have to memorize Shel Silverstein poems in the 6th grade. But then I liked them.
