Are You A Bookworm?

Suddenly, I find myself with an utter abundance of time. Well, not really. I just decided that housework is not all that fun to do when it's too hot and you're pregnant. (I really hope the Man doesn't read that...) And the potty training is going fairly well (FINALLY!). His only accidents happen when he doesn't get his shorts off quickly enough.

So...I'm not hanging out in the bathroom, or the laundry room, or the kitchen. AND I just finished my book. I have another book to read but we are headed out of town next weekend and I am saving it for the car trip. Also? Kinda feel like I am stuck in a sci-fi rut. All my books lately are science fiction or fantasy. Might need to branch out a little...and I totally would if I didn't find most non-fiction boring. Also, I don't like most of the books that Oprah deems "worthy." And no Nora Roberts. But other than that...

Tell me, ladies, what book should I read?
(I might make this a poll once I get a few responses.)

Have you read the Devil Wears Prada? How about the Nanny Diaries? or Baby Proof by Emily Griffith I think is the author.
The entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy? The whole Anne of Green Gables? I have LOTS of ideas. I am serious biblophile.

I am totally into this Shannon Hale thing. I've read everything-my favorite is Goose Girl

Although I just finished Fairest by the lady who did Ella Enchanted.

Sorry Jessica, I am not a reader. Oh how I should be. But I just can't seem to get into the doing of it. I try to read what I have to, but that's it. I wait for them to become movies.

Cheater and I am always missing the really good reads.

Can my daughter comment here? She wants too.

I have been reading the Hannah Swensen Mysteries by Joanne Fluke. The books are easy reads and very clean. Hannah runs a bakery and also solves murder mysteries, the books are full of recipes. Probably not the best books to read while on a diet, but since you are pregnant who cares how many cookies you eat. I certainly won't judge you infact I will join you!

I recently read "Uglies" by Scott Westerfield and I actually liked it (although it's very unlike most books I usually like.) It's actually a young adult book- so a very easy read. It's the first in a set of 3, but so far I haven't liked the second one much.
I can't remember if you said you'd read "The Last Lecture" but I loved that-

I love easy read books, so I may not be of any help to you. But I just read the Boyleyn books. The Other Boyleyn Girl, The Boyleyn Inheritance. They were both great. I also really like Time Travelers Wife, Water for Elephants, Memory Keepers Daughter, The Plain Truth, I love the Heather Wells series, Size 12 is not fat and on and on. Right now I am reading the Stephanie Meyer series, and loving them so far. If I have to think too much I don't read it, but I do read all the time, that is what happens with five kids I guess....your brain turns to mush!

I really like the Children Of The Promise series. I also enjoyed Flags Of Our Fathers, and Ghost Soldiers, although the last two are pretty graphic with naughty words. I was stuck in a rut with the WWII books, but I'm such a nerd, I loved them! I am currently reading the Twilight series, and I'm not so sure I like them...

I'm just finishing The Book Thief, and it's amazing! All 500+ pages. (I'm a slow reader, but I've raced through this one.) Highly recommended.

Glad you have time to read again!
