What Chocolate Taught Me

Here's a quote from the Chocolate Calendar:

"I taught my kids to count using little chocolate candies. They could make it to 20 before either fo them started school, but I gained 5 pounds."

Some other things I've learned from chocolate:

Nothing says "I love you" like getting your favorite treat (it means they've paid attention enough to know what you'd like).
When in doubt, bake brownies. Everyone loves brownies! Need it fancier? Add a scoop of ice cream, chocolate syrup, whipped cream and a cherry. Anyone who refuses that ought to be asked to leave immediately.
It's perfectly acceptable to have chocolate for breakfast. In fact, it may just be recommended, as it will start you day off on a sweeter foot.
Children can be bribed with chocolate. Even the promise of one single M&M will bring out the unexpected in your little ones (like making their bed, being quiet for 10 minutes, or using the potty).

What has chocolate taught you?

Chocolate has helped me find an affinity for working out. Can't believe it huh? I started taking a Jazzercise class and I REALLY enjoy it. I usually also come home and eat a spoon of peanut butter covered in chocolate chips thus securing the employment of my instructor in helping me to minimize the booty I'e acquired. I just can't give up chocolate confections so I have to work around them!

Chocolate has taught me I can take it or leave it. I know what you are thinkg...bite your tounge woman! Right, see I know you. My husband is the chocoholic in the family. If I have some, I like white chocolate the best. Kyla takes after me. (BTW, I started up my blog again.)

Chocolate is the best anti-depressant, especially after you've had a baby!

I have to be in the mood for chocolate for it to taste the best. I am not a chocoholic. I just have cravings for it often.

It doesn't judge me, like when I pulled the Diet Coke and my chocolate stash from the fridge for breakfast.
They didn't tell me that chocolate wasn't a foodgroup we should eat for breakfast. They didn't tell me I had to be nice and share with others, in fact i think I heard the DC whisper, don't share, it's all for you!
Chocolate-it is one great teacher!!

Chocolate has taught me that it's ok to unbutton the top button on my jeans, that the blemishes on my face from eating too much chocolate can be covered up with make-up, and for best results, it should be consumed while soaking in the bathtub! :)

I've learned that if you eat enough chocolate while you are pregnant, your child will be born with the most beautiful chocolaty brown eyes.

Chocolate is the fifth food group.

Chocolate has taught me that when shared with other it always brings a smile to their faces.
Chocolate has taught me that sharing isn't always easy. Especially with my kids.

bonnie the boss I agree with that. It isn't always easy to share, but it does bring a smile to almost every face.

I learned that chocolate is the best treatment for Dementor attacks. They happen more often then you imagine.

I think chocolate tastes best after you haven't had it in a week or so (hard to survive that long, I know)But when you get that first square and let it melt on your tongue... the flavors have never been so intense, the pleasure so full...
So I guess that means I learned to appreciate what I don't have and then fully be thankfully when I do have it, no matter for how short a time.
