Q & A: The Baby

Okay, okay! Enough with the harassing comments, emails and carrier pigeons! I will give you all the details on the Baby.

Q: When are you due?
A: December 17th. It will be a very merry Christmas, Charlie Brown. And I get to have a c-section so hooray for not being able to move during the busiest holiday! I'm sure the kids won't mind opening my gifts for me.

Q: How far along are you?
A: I think I am 14 weeks. My doctors says I am 14 weeks but the little pregnancy tracker-thingy I have says 15 weeks. You pick.

Q: How are you feeling?
A: Well, I just had some chocolate, so I'm feeling pretty good! Oh wait, that's probably not what you meant...I did get some morning sickness but not as bad as with the Boy and it was mostly in the evenings, just in time for dinner. Mmmmm...nothing like Sprite and saltine crackers to fill you up! I am crushingly exhausted by the afternoon but we could chalk that one up to the fact that I already have two monsters - I mean...sweet, precious little angel babies. I get headaches almost every day and I am very, very cranky. Seriously. You may not want to talk to me unless you want to hear my plethora of negative opinions.

Q: Do you want a boy or a girl?
A: All I ask for is a healthy baby.
As long as it's a girl.

Q: Are you craving anything weird?
A: Nope. Mainly I want to eat cheeseburgers for every meal but that's it. I knew a girl a few years ago the craved chalk. Chalk! Like the white stuff you use to write on blackboards! Her doctor told her that it's normal and if she couldn't resist the craving, then one or two pieces of the white, dust-less chalk was fine. CHALK, people!

Did you crave anything weird?

OK! That is really weird! That girl that craved Chalk has Pica. I have it too! I ate Chalk through 5 pregnancies....lots of it!! It actually tasted better to me than chocolate.
I haven't ever heard of anyone else with my same kind of Pica...cool!!! Maybe she and i are twins seperated at birth???

I bet your friend would like to "erase" that chalk memory.

I craved celery. Thank goodness. I never eat it naturally, but when pregnant, I "stalk" celery. Oh aren't I funny tonight.

Congrats again on eating chocolate.
Oh and the baby.

Congratulations! I didn't crave anything too strange. First trimester is was anything but Mexican food (which I normally love). Third trimester all I wanted was sweets. Didn't matter what kind, anyhing loaded with sugar was fine.

Yay for Jessica! I didn't crave anything weird either. First time I likes red meats. Second time I craved the sweets, especially chocotale chip ice cream. Oh, and now I don't like chicken very much due to aversions during both pregnancies. I'm hoping for a girl for you too!

My pregnancy cravings aways revolved around citrus...I ate loads of lemons with salt and washed them down with ice-water.

Oh the cravings. During my first trimester I crave salty foods especially potato chips and french fries with fry sauce. After a few days of throwing up all I want is cookies and cream ice cream. In the second half I get my sugar cravings instead of the salt cravings, probably because I am not throwing up and hydrated. Homemade cookies are always a good craving to fulfill.

I am soooooooooo excited for you. Now I know 5 women that are due this Fall/Winter. I also hope you have a girl.

With #1 I craved McDonald's cheeseburgers.
I couldn't eat pizza or chicken. One time at work, I was thinking about eating chicken, and got so sick that I had to go home.
#2 I craved peaches. Fresh peaches. Difficult to find in October.
#3 Chocolate shakes. I made one every morning for breakfast.
#4 I craved a larger house.

I had weirder cravings after they were born, while I was nursing.
#1 I craved swiss cheese and raspberry gingerale. Together.
#3 I craved A&W bacon cheeseburgers and rootbeer floats. This might have been the reason that I didn't lose the baby weight.

Hooray for a baby! Sid was born mid-December so Christmas was a total blur, but that's fine :) Don't even get me started on the cravings--whatever I craved eventually got thrown up, so I was constantly finding new cravings. Most of them centered around processed cheese, though. Is that bad?

OMG I craved sweets and I am not a big sweets person. I just had to have the chocolate lasagna from Olive Garden. They got an earful from a very ticked off pregnant lady when they took it off their menu. They sent me a $25 gift card to make up for it. I still haven't forgiven them. I also liked the strawberry sugary straws (I can't remember the name of them.)

Saltine crackers with peanut butter, raspberry jam, and sharp cheddar cheese on top...

Good times, and really?! A girl? What is that?!

now you know someone who craved chalk! I craved chalk, dirt, and ice. I would eat if it eas kosher. I could have walked into a newly sheetrocked house and want to lick the walls. I know-i know Weird!
There is a reason for my maddness. It is because I am anemic. Anemic patients tend to crave this stuff cause they have the minerals that their bodies are missing.

So-now you "know" someone who wanted chalk, dirt, ice and sheetrock! Yes-I am one of a kind!!
