Showing The Wii Who's The Boss...Or Not

I'm beginning to wonder why we got the Wii Fit. Besides it talking trash about me to my kids, it really hasn't helped me with my weight-loss goals and has quite possibly ruined my self-image.

While pregnant, I was repeatedly subjected to the Wii Fit's veiled insults as I continued to gain weight. It would ask me why I thought I was putting on the pounds in spite of it's best efforts to slenderize me, but "Creating A New Life Within Me" was not an option it offered. I had to choose from "Late Night Snacking" or "Portion Size" instead, then read it's lecture on my presumed bad habits before continuing on. Once I had Baby, I was looking forward to shocking the Wii into silence with my amazing weight loss.

I did a Body Test when Baby was one week old. I only lost 4.4 pounds. WHAT?!? Baby weighed more than that! Maybe it was all that pudding I ate in the hospital...

Then, just before the New Year, I weighed myself again. This time? Almost 14 pounds. Yes! But was the Wii impressed? Nope. It merely said that I was progressing at a good pace and then suggested I use the Balance games so I wasn't quite so uncoordinated. I swear, that thing is never happy. Kinda reminds me of a high school math teacher I had...

Nothing like humiliation from the TV. I think I want this!

And if creating life wihtin yourself is not a free ticket to all you can eat pudding, then I don't know what is.

I haven't used the thing, but my Jazzercise instructor said it gave her crap and that she had worse balance than the guy across the street who doesn't workout hardcore 6 times a week like she does! It sounds like buying an audio version of that little voice inside who always tells us we aren't good enough. I have better things to do...like eat Moosetracks ice cream and gain rediculous amounts of weight!

Ahhhh Yes! Wii Fit. I gave it a week, then I couldn't take the pressure....the balance board moaning every time I stood on it.

I'd never make it on Biggest Loser. I'd be the chick that is always bawling. You know, the one they vote off first.

Hmmm....makes me glad that I don't have one!! :) You HAVE to eat lots of pudding in the hospital!! It tastes great and is a good recovery tool after a c-section. :)

I so don't anyone on my case like that. I am never getting the Wii fit now! Stupid thing, how could it not be impressed with a 14 lb weight loss?? Dumb programmers, they must have all been anorexic!

Seriously, the Wii Fit is just cruel! I hate getting on that thing...as it shows a chubby version of my Mii looking back at me.

Well I think 14 pounds is AWESOME!

I am always surprised too, after I have a baby that there isn't this 25 pound loss within minutes after giving birth......slow and steady. Sammy is almost two and while I have lost all my pregnancy(ies) weight, I am still working on my Daniel weight. It is never ending. But just sit and hold your baby....you can worry about that later. :)

I have been wanting one forever but after this post I'm afraid to be humiliated every time I want to play with my kids. Who am I kidding I'll probably still get one.

I have to admit that I laughed so hard when my hubby got on it & it made his Mii fatter b/c he gained weight.
I love doing the yoga, but my center of balance is way off. BUT I have the high score on everything!! That & guitar hero is the only thing I can beat hubby at!!

Okay, we bought a Wii Fit three days ago, and I'm totally writing a blog post about it for this week. So I'll make a mental note: if/when I get pregnant again, either stop doing Wii Fit, or ignore the insults.
