Another Mothering Moment by Jessica G.

Just because you are sleep deprived does not mean you should finish off your husband's Dr Pepper. This is not a good idea for two reasons:
  1. You haven't have caffeine for a couple months now and the large amount in Dr Pepper will cause you to stay wide awake until the wee hours of the morning, where you will start to seriously consider whether you can trade your poor, ragged soul to the devil for some rest.
  2. When the buzz finally fades and you start to crash, your baby will take the opportunity to demand some quality time. Despite your previous practice, the concept of "nursing" will confuse your already befuddled mind; not to mention how it will irritate the poop out of your hungry infant.
End results? Everyone is crying.

And in other news...
Thanks to everyone for your birthday wishes for the Man! He said after reading that he considered commenting on my blog. For the first time. Ever. It's so nice that he supports me. Now, if you'll excuse me, I seem to have some sarcasm dripping all over my keyboard...

Oh those caffeine highs and lows. I took an Excederin once not knowing it had caffeine. I was wired and crawling out of my skin the whole night.

Hope you got some sleep at some point though. Motherhood is being awake for at least 30 years.

I have been off soda for weeks now. Sometimes, I just want a Diet Coke!

Seeing as I need to stay awake to the wee hours of the morning, caffeine has been a great friend during the past 3 semesters of school...but I gave it up in Dec, and it had a short visit last weekend (but ONLY for medicinal purposes...saying this helps my guilt).
Hope you finally get some good rest!

Ahhh- the tired state of having a nighttime nurser. I am tired just thinking about it.

I have to admit that I really really don't miss the sleepless nights! Hope they don't last too long! :)

Hang in there, it gets much better, in a year! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you out. If you want The boy can come play with Riley.

You forgot about how the caffeine gets to the baby through your milk then keeps her awake the next night.

Thanks. Now I'm craving a Dr. Pepper.

Hang in there.

Thanks for your pearls of motherly wisdom. My man has never commented on my blog either. He once told me he read it and I about fell out of my chair. Love the new backdrop!
