Friday Confessional

I Confess...

I once gave up drinking milk for an entire year.
I was trying to be healthier and read a book by Mary Lu Henner, which contained on entire chapter on how bad milk is for your body.
After reading that, the thought of milk made me sick to my stomach.
So for 12 months, I drank almond milk instead.
For those of you not familiar with almond milk, it tastes like melted ice cream, and is just about as fattening.
I didn't lose weight.
Also, I tried soy cheese and decided that chewing on the plastic wrapper that normal cheese comes in would taste better.
After a year, that first glass of milk tasted like nectar of the gods.

I STILL haven't had a glass of milk since Kaitlyn started having issues with it when she was a month old (she's 8 months old now). I dream about drinking glasses of milk. I can't wait until I drink a full glass. My mouth is salivating now.

Super cold milk is delicious! DELICIOUS. How you lived without it for a year is a mystery to me.

I have heard giving up milk will probably make my sinus issues go away, but that would be like giving up breathing!
I was hoping to read you'd come up with a good substitute... but I don't think there is one.

I looooove Miiiiiiilk!

I look at milk as a wonderful healthy gift we have been given. I choose to ignore the bad stuff. I am sure it is denial on my part. There are plenty of goods that come from it. It would be really hard for me to give it up. You are a really strong woman to do it!

I once gave up chocolate, and all caffeine, for 3 years b/c it was actually giving me pains. I've never been a huge fan of chocolate, so it wasn't too hard...but I tried almond milk too...it's just not the same!
