"A Mothering Moment" by Jessica G. - #3

If you are going to go through all the trouble to haul the blasted, bulky diaper bag into the grocery store and have it take up valuable cart space, then you had better be sure there are actually *diapers* in there should your baby decide that Aisle 5 is a good place to empty her bowels.

P.S.
But hey! Macey's offers a free diaper if you're having an emergency. We were definitely having an emergency.

AND? Mamarazzi is having a swap! I've done one before and it was really fun so I can't wait to see what comes in the mail for this one!

Oh no! I'm glad you were at Macys, and not somewhere evil, like Walmart.

It's so nice when stores can be compassionate of emergencies such as this!!!

If it makes you feel better, I changed a messy diaper with no wipes today in Target. :)

I love that Macey's takes care of the mothers who have diaper needs out there! It just makes me want to shop there even more....but how did you know they offered diapers to the distressed? Did you go up to the service desk and ask for one?

Jan said...

Do they offer a free depends for us older people :)

So nice of them at Macy's.

I am so excited that you joined the swap.

You will be getting a confirmation email once I get your info. Please respond to that email, doing so will confirm your spot in the swap. Once I get all of the RSVPs and confirmation from everyone I will make the matches...around Feb 15. THEN all packages need to be sent on March 2.

My last swap was amazing. This one is going to be bigger so communication is paramount, for it to be just as or even more amazing! Be prepared to hear from me often, you are going to love this!

Oh man...I know what that's like!

The other day we all went grocery shopping since we just moved into our house here. Our little girl had a stinky diaper and I realized that I didn't bring a diaper or wipes or anything. So, when one of the boys needed to go to the bathroom, Thav took him and also Kamea. I said, "how are you going to change her diaper when we don't have one to put her back into?" He took her anyway. When he brought her back, she was fully clothed but diaperless. He said that he put some toilet paper there in case. Ummm...ok? So, all went well until we were in line which was only 3 minutes later. It was then that I felt something hot on my hip and there was a puddle on the floor.
That darn TP didn't do a thing! Go figure! :):):)

p.s. Remember Sarah our neighbor at the Y? Well, she is in my stake here and her ward meets in my building. I saw Mark at church Sunday, but I had forgotten his name, so I didn't say anything. They have 5 kids...I think. Crazy.

Diane - in the midst of my angst, one of the store employees came into the bathroom, intending to use the facilities but instead came to my rescue.

IKEA is another place that offers free diapers, one just isn't there as often as a grocery store. It's good to know that's available. I've certainly had a few of those emergencies as well.

I didn't know that about Macy's! I hope Pufferfish and I can try it out someday! I did learn, a little too late, that the mall by us has a diaper and wipe dispenser in the women's bathroom, right by the tampon dispenser! Very handy!

Don't tell anyone, but once at the gym when I couldn't find the diaper I was sure I brought with me, I just lined the poopy diaper with some wipes, put it back on, and left immediately for home. That. was. not. cool.

I've been in that situation before...I really think that diaper companies would make a fortune if they would do handy packs...you know, one diaper and five or six wipes in a convenient emergency package.

Thanks for the tip on Macy's!
