Have to end this on a positive note, right?
- Makeup, fixing my hair and clothes other than pajamas are optional. Bras, too.
- The Man is not here to demand home cooking or dinners with nutritional value. Chocolate pudding is perfectly acceptable for lunch.
- I don't have to watch any of "his" shows. The remote is all mine. Goodbye college sports; hello Doctor Who!
- I don't have to share the blankets. And his pillow becomes community property.
- Dishes only have to be done when we're using forks to eat our ice cream.
- Costa Vida takes over my evening meals for me. I never get tired of their salads!
- I can adjust the thermostat to whatever I want. He likes it at 68. I like higher. I win.
- Casual get-togethers with friends go from "just for fun" status, to "absolutely necessary for my sanity" and therefore, make getting a babysitter a priority.
- I don't feel guilty about updating my status on Facebook every couple of minutes after the kids go to bed because there isn't anyone waiting for me on the couch.
- There's no one that can prove that I've eaten the rest of the brownies. The only other people in the house either can't count that high or aren't tall enough to see that there's a pan on the counter.

I really enjoy when my hubby goes on business trips. They are few and far between. This summer there are two! Two ten day trips for him. I'm probably going to do some painting while he is away.
My husband may or may not be out of town (I share in your paranoia) and I can so agree with this. "Girls night" become a lot more common when he's out of town.
Yeah, community pillows are a huge bonus.
Nothing is more sublime than having the remote all to yourself!! :)
GREAT post! It really tickled me.
Agree totally with all except #6, I don't know what that is.
Ah, Costa Vida, how I miss thee.
With a list this good, it's now requisite that you make an opposing list justifying why you bother to keep him around.
There are some benefits to hubby's being gone for sure. Not having to cook or get dressed would be at the top for me too.
Love it. Totally agree.
I'm totally with you on both of these lists. My husband was out of town all last week.
I hate to be a broken record, but enjoy it while it lasts...Pretty soon those darn kids learn how to count! Arrgh! School is a blessing and a curse.
And when he gets back home....ahh....it is so nice to love eachother again!
Too bad I have a job that requires getting dressed, otherwise PJ would be my MO. I also enjoy watching all the girly shows I want, not doing dishes, and letting BG do the fun things he is against (playdoh). Sometimes a girl just needs a break from the man too! Ya know?
Many of these can also be applied to "top ten reasons why it rocks when hubby works late" except for the community pillow thing.. He always wants them back. LOL
My hubby only goes over night for scout campouts. I do like that I get to stay up late and watch whatever I want. I don't like that I become paranoid of every house creak too. Late work days do constitute a no make-up, dress down day too and I love them! Good luck with the remainder of your time.
LOL Perfect list. I love it.
Number 10 is my favorite! That and sleeping in the middle of the bed using all the pillows.... sweet!
How about staying up as late as you want, guilt-free!?
I think that it gives one more sanity when the hubby leaves for a while. It helps all involoved how much they love, depend on and need them to warm their feet!
My hubby is a the feet warmer as well. He HATES it-I love it!
