Halloween is FUN!

Halloween is my favorite holiday! I have almost as many spooky decorations as I do Christmas decorations. The kids' costumes are fun to plan/plot/beg. Even I get into the act (but the Man is a stick in the mud). And I love cold, drizzly autumn mornings, which is a good thing since that's what we're getting for the entire week! Now, if only my kids hadn't jammed the only working umbrella in the house...

So I'm not trying to be like Be Different...Act Normal - because I'm not nearly that cool - but I have to share some of my Halloween favorites!

First of all, tomorrow night for FHE, we're carving pumpkins. I think I want this one:

Adorable! Found it here. (picture by Paula Hible)

And then, Friday night we're going to a party and I'm so taking these:

I bookmarked there at Gourmet Mom On-the-Go clear back in August. Much, much better than the real tarantula that we saw while camping a little while ago.

He wasn't as cute and I'm betting not as tasty.

What do you have planned for this Halloween?

I'm going to a friend's party. Love the spider treats!

The tarantulas look like ground meat. What are they made out of???

They're no-bake cookies. Legs are softened tootsie rolls.

But you're right...they do look like meat!

LOVE those ideas:) And I LOVE Halloween and fall too!!!!! SO much less pressure and work than Christmas and it's all about candy! What's not to love? Someday I may have to make those spiders:)

We're going to leave the teenager home to pass out candy and take the other kids trick-or-treating.
Now if I can just get their costumes finished in time.........

Love the Pooh pumpkins!

The pumpkin teddy bear is too cute for words!!! But, I can't even deal with dessert spiders...I already have goosebumps!

Okay, that is some super cool halloween stuff (minus the REAL tarantula, of course).

What time is FHE? I promise to be good!

Today we are eating blood and spiders. The blood is really just chili and I made spiders out of crescent fridgerater dough and biscuits. My 5 year old believed me when I told him the menu. The older one saw right thru me.

I love the tarantula idea. So cool Jess!

How fun! I love the pumpkin idea! We have about a million left from our garden. I might try that one!

I'm helping to make candy haunted houses in Anna's school class. Then I plan to raid my kids' candy after they've gone into sugar shock Saturday night.
