Teaser Tuesday: Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share a few “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I thought about teasing The Scorch Trials, which is book two in James Dashner's trilogy that I teased last week with book one, The Maze Runner. But I figured that if you haven't read the first one, then you might not be very interested in the second book. Instead, I give you a new book. Because I am generous like that.

Most people know him as Honest Abe, the 16th President of the United States. They know about the famous address at Gettysburg and about his career as a lawyer, or even that he lost his first election. But what they don't know is that his career was all a facade. Abraham Lincoln was a vampire hunter. I have to say, I learned way more about Mr. Lincoln than I ever did in school.

Here's the Teaser:
"I had expected to find the place plagued by a rash of disappearances or pestilence of some sort. However, the people seemed in excellent spirits, and their town in excellent health. I walked among them with my weapons hidden beneath my long coat (for it had occurred to me that the sight of a tall stranger with an ax might engender concern among the citizenry)."
- pg 108, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith

What are you reading?

I really liked this book! Made me laugh, tear-up, and get angry. Definitely better than his "Pride & Prejudice & Zombies."

Buffy with sideburns? Too funny!

Nice teaser. I actually recently finished this book and didn't like it much. It was a good history lesson, but I think the movie will be a lot more fun.
