Teaser Tuesday: The Girl in the Steel Corset

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share a few “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Have to admit that I am kinda obsessed with steampunk lately. So much so that I've even given myself a steampunk persona and am building the costume bit by bit. Why, yes, I am an utter dork! :)

And then there's the steampunk fiction. Some is good, some is awesome, and some is just so, so wrong. I'd heard about The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross and hoped it would be one of the good ones. You can read my review here.

Here's the Teaser:
"Lady Marsden was trying to get inside her head again.
This time Finley didn't immediately terminate the telepath's rude intrusion. Instead, it was as though some part of her mind got up off the sofa, walked calmly across the room and slowly, but firmly, closed a door to shut her out."
- pg. 124, The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross

What are you reading?
